Professional Bio

I began working in the technology industry in 1999 at Oracle focused on selling into the SLED market. In 2001, I went to work at a small reseller focused exclusively on Oracle technology. In 2007, my duties expanded into the federal space. I have always had some sort of sales position. Including duties such as sales development, sales management, business development and business strategy roles.

JMU Major / Year Graduated

1995

Why did you choose JMU?

I planned on staying in VA for college and I was recruited to wrestle for JMU.

How did your degree from JMU lead you to where you are today?

JMU provides an environment that produces well-rounded individuals. I actually majored in Anthropology/Archaeology but never pursued it as a career. I quickly realized there wasn’t much opportunity in the field outside of seasonal work unless I had a desire to pursue graduate degrees. I wasn’t ready for that commitment at the time, so I looked at alternate careers and eventually landed in sales. After a few years, I was offered a position working in the Public Sector at Oracle Corporation. Eventually leaving to join a very small reseller focused exclusively on Oracle technology. Over 24 years we grew the business to be one of the largest resellers and service providers in the global Oracle ecosystem. We have JMU alumni in the ranks from entry level sales people to Senior Executives. We love our JMU grads. One of my children is heading there in the fall of 2024 and I hope his younger brother will join him in the fall of 2025. I’m grateful for the experience and education JMU provided which has contributed to my success.

What does working for the Federal Government community mean to you?

I like working in the federal space because it gives me exposure to some very interesting projects which the government is undertaking. It is great to be able to participate in some of those and we hope our involvement improves the capabilities of our government.
